Sustainability
The Cologne Institute for Management Consulting stands for ecological action, social commitment and sustainable learning.
We firmly believe that companies have a significant role to play in shaping a responsible and sustainable society. Sustainability, social responsibility and continuous learning are therefore at the heart of our corporate philosophy.

What characterizes us
Ecological action
Our company is consistently committed to environmental sustainability. We prefer the use of rail for business trips and use electric vehicles as company cars to reduce our CO2 emissions. We also encourage mobile working from home to minimize commuting. By providing our employees with the german train ticket, we actively encourage the use of public transportation.
To conserve resources, we conduct assessment centers paperlessly thanks to our software solution and increasingly rely on digital formats such as online training, interviews, and remote assessment centers to avoid travel and reduce CO2 emissions. In addition, we increasingly use fair trade, vegetarian, and vegan products when providing catering for events to promote sustainable and ethical business practices.
Our efforts over the past few years are paying off: As we increasingly conduct remote procedures and use digital methods, we have been able to reduce our paperwork by half.
These measures are part of our commitment to environmentally friendly corporate governance and demonstrate our contribution to protecting the environment and promoting sustainable practices, which we also want to establish beyond the boundaries of our company.
Social commitment
We are also actively involved in social activities to make a positive contribution to society. Since 2002, we have supported the LebensWert e.V. association by providing free coaching for cancer patients, helping them return to work or change careers. We support athletes in their transition after their sporting careers in collaboration with the Sports Foundation of North Rhine-Westphalia, transferring resources from sport into the new phase of life and providing guidance for the time after competitive sport.
Furthermore, we support the Christmas campaign of the Lions Club Cologne-Rhenus by acquiring and gifting hundreds of their Advent calendars. The proceeds from these calendars benefit various social projects.
At the Cologne Bridge Run every year, we donate a fixed amount for each kilometer run by our employees to a social project. Our "congredi coeln" event series also serves a good cause, as the participation fees are donated to charitable causes. Many of our employees also volunteer in sports or social activities in their free time.
These diverse activities are an expression of our deep commitment to social responsibility and solidarity.
Sustainable learning
Our overarching corporate goal is to develop people responsibly within organizations to increase their performance and personal satisfaction. Therefore, the lasting impact of learning is particularly important to us. We rely on innovative technologies and formats to optimize personnel selection and development processes.
Our learning concepts combine digital training elements with interactive classroom sessions and diverse methodological approaches to address different learning styles and achieve sustainable learning success. We place particular emphasis on balancing knowledge transfer with practical relevance by providing ample space for exercises and practical application to promote long-term transfer into everyday professional life. In addition to our knowledge transfer measures, we promote sustainable learning through follow-up units and continuously evaluate the long-term success of our offerings.
As part of our commitment, we offer a variety of internships to give students insight into our working methods and to gain experience. Read what our interns have to say here.
We are also proud to have been recognized by the Chamber of Industry and Commerce for outstanding achievements in vocational training (Office Management Assistant) in 2023. Our commitment to sustainable learning is reflected in all our educational initiatives and demonstrates our commitment to empowering people and fostering long-term, successful development.
We also support the next generation of young consultants by enabling prospective members of the student consulting firm MarcAurelConsult e.V. to gain their first practical experience through external projects. For example, the associates have already conducted a market analysis on HR topics. Within this framework, we offer dedicated students the opportunity to translate their professional knowledge from their studies into practical business psychology issues.
